Meet Luis
Luis has spent his life as a community advocate - fighting for justice and for a future that can and will exist. He’s running for TN State Representative because no matter who we are or where we live, we all want the same thing–the opportunity to live, work, and play safely in our communities. Together, we can create a Tennessee that uplifts all Tennesseans, regardless of how much money we make, who we love, or where we come from. It’s time for representation that not only looks like us, but looks out for us. As Tennessee’s first-ever Latino State Legislator, he will continue to be a champion for fairness and justice for all in the “Fightin’ 49”.
Campaign Issues
Protecting Public Education
Luis will stand boldly in support of strong public neighborhood schools in every community and stand against efforts like vouchers that privatize our schools and take money away from teachers and students.
Gun Violence Prevention
Like many Tennesseeans, Luis supports, and will fight for, common sense gun violence prevention policies. We all deserve to live free from the fear of gun violence.
Economic Prosperity
Luis knows that every Tennessee worker deserves a safe job that pays them enough money to put food on the table and pay their bills. He'll fight for safe workplaces and never stand in the way of organized labor.
Accessible Healthcare and Reproductive Justice
Luis will never stand between a person and their doctor, will work to repeal Tennessee's restrictive abortion ban, and will fight for Medicaid expansion. Healthcare is a human right.
Immigrant and Refugee Rights
Our diversity makes our state stronger. Luis will continue his decades’ long fight in advocating tirelessly to defend and promote immigrant and refugee rights. Tennessee is home and we are here to stay.
